At Waterfront Academy, we love activities that nurture creativity while building real-life skills—and our latest craft project does just that! In this hands-on video, your child will learn how to make beautiful paper flowers—a fun and simple activity perfect for little hands.
This Montessori-inspired craft encourages fine motor development, independence, and artistic expression. Whether you’re at home or in the classroom, it’s a calming and creative way to spend time together.
Materials You’ll Need:
Glue
Construction or card stock paper
Scissors (or decorative paper cutters)
Craft stick or popsicle stick
Optional: Small bowl and paintbrush for glue application (great for toddlers and preschoolers!)
Steps to Follow:
Cut Your Shapes – Petals can be any shape: circles, ovals, hearts—whatever your child imagines.
Glue the Petals – Layer and overlap the paper pieces onto the stick to build a one-of-a-kind flower.
Let It Dry – Once your flower is finished, let it dry before displaying or gifting.
This project is not only fun, but also helps young children strengthen hand-eye coordination, patience, and focus. Bonus: These flowers make wonderful decorations or heartfelt handmade gifts!
We’d love to see your floral creations! Share your child’s work in the comments or tag us on social media with your #MontessoriMoments.
Happy crafting from all of us at Waterfront Academy!
