Waterfront Academy students participate in the National Cherry Blossom Festival

On March 13th, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Goodwill Ambassadors came by the school to talk about all the fun things Waterfront Academy is going with the Cherry Blossom festival and the children learned works in Japanese, all about Cherry trees and their blossoms, and little about Japanese culture. They loved wearing their new Cherry Blossom tattoos.

On March 20th, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Goodwill Ambassadors came by the school to help the students with painting huge cherry blossom cut-out that will be on display at the Southwest Fireworks Festival on April 15th.

On March 31st, the National Cherry Blossom Festival brought the Island Quad professional kite flyers to do a demonstration for our students. Due to rain we had to take the kite flying indoors and we are so grateful that Randall Recreation Center provided us some indoor space. Island Quad will be performing at the National Kite Flying day on April 1st on the National Mall.
